Our photo scanning service is designed to save you time, money and effort, making it easier for you to preserve and convert your family memories to digital, and providing you with high quality digital scans.

What Photos Do We Scan?
The Photoscans scanning service is suitable for standard loose prints in sizes from wallet size (2"x3") through to 8"x12".

If you have specialty photos, such as thicker photos, card mounted photos, Polaroid photos, photos mounted in albums or you wish to have slides or negatives scanned, please refer to Photofresh www.photofresh.co.nz for custom scanning services.

Advanced Kodak Scanning Technology
Photoscans uses advanced commercial grade Kodak photo scanning technology. The Kodak photo scanner is especially designed for photo prints and includes Gentle Photo Handling and Perfect Touch Technology to ensure quality digital image replication. This encompasses image cropping and rotation, photo optimisation and enhancement including colour balance correction and contrast adjustment, red-eye correction and digital image cleaning.

Scanning Resolution
We'll scan each photo at our standard resolution of 300dpi, so that you can print a same-size print of your original photo with virtually no loss of quality. We also offer 600 dpi resolution which will produce digital files large enough to print large scale prints.

Image File Format
We'll provide the digital files to you as JPG image files, which is the industry standard format used for digital images and is the format used by most digital cameras.

Media Options
We will supply your digital image files on a choice of either CD or DVD. A CD will hold 700MB of data and a DVD up to 4700MB or 4.7GB. The number of files stored on each disk depends on the resolution of the scanned images. As a guide, a CD can handle up to 170 JPG images at 300dpi standard resolution and a DVD up to 1200 JPG images at standard resolution.

The scanned files and discs are yours to do with as you choose. If you wish to make copies of the discs, you will need the appropriate disc burning software and a CD/DVD burner drive installed on your computer.

Pick Up/Drop Off and Onsite Scanning Services
Worried About Parting With Your Precious Photos? Don't Be! We recognise how precious your photos are, so we've introduced 2 new services for our Christchurch customers:

• Pick up and Delivery - you are able to drop off and pick up your photos directly from our premises. Alternatively, we can pick up and drop off directly from your place*.
• Onsite Scanning - with our new onsite scanning service, we'll come to you and scan your photos at your place. So there's no need to part with them*!

* Please note that these services are available in the Christchurch metropolitan area only, and additional charges apply.

Ordering
Ordering is simple. You can place an order by going to the Order Now page and downloading and printing the order form. Then send us your photos along with your completed order form. Please see the Photo Preparation Tips page for some useful information on how to prepare your photos for scanning.
